Sepulchre

SEPULCHRE

The Sepulchre is a mockery of the afterlife. It expands endlessly, centred around a Machine so vast that it creates limspaces simply to support the weight of its own existence. The Machine populates its pseudo-heaven with data ripped from the minds of freshly dead humans, forming the memories into flawed recreations of the departed. These sets of stolen information, termed memoirs by the system's unwilling residents, are drawn upon to inspire construction of Sepulchre's spaces. The once-dead flood each new zone—either perfect replicas of their final moments, or abominations contorted in mind and body as their memoirs blend with whatever the machine deems appropriate. Unfortunately for all, the dead cannot die. Suicide and murder victims alike are quickly returned to the fractured limscape of Sepulchre, a little weaker each time.

The Sepulchre limsystem is inaccessible from baseline and all other recorded spaces. The little information found in the archives has been sent to our terminals from inside the machine itself. Some of these accounts suggest that there are one or more functioning terminals in Sepulchre, but some data may even be memoirs transcribed directly from the Machine's stores. Our deepest respect and sympathy lies with those who still document the liminal, even when consigned to the degrading infinity of Sepulchre.

What happens after death?

You live your dull life again, again and again.

You are rewarded for how you lived.

✎ Core Limspaces:

The most coherent collections of data, supported consistently by several accounts by wandering writers and groups of archivists.

Mulberry Grove

✎ Unorganised Limspaces:

Various excerpts of lesser credibility, patchworked together with incomplete research. These places most likely exist, but many details are lost and inconsistent.

Archival in progress.

✎ Stages:

Abrupt abnormalities – patches of spaces appearing elsewhere in the system at random intervals, and later disappearing without a trace.

Archival in progress.

✎ Habitants & Phenomena:

The Sepulchre Limspace System warps people beyond recognition by design. No matter how grotesque the mutation, most active humans found within are potential allies. Even then, it is important to know when to trust.

Archival in progress.

✎ Tales and Miscellaneous Documentation:

Lone documents regarding spaces with little to no other evidence of their existence, or shared stories and rumors from all across Sepulchre.
