A stream of water in the limspace showing its peculiar properties.

Kave Diluvii is an underground area of unknown, but certainly finite, size.1 The terrain, walls and ceiling are completely black and reflect only a small percentage of the light hitting their surface, however the realm is easily navigable thanks to the large amount of light sources of various shapes present in it. With the exception of the soil, everything in the habitat has fluorescent or bioluminescent2 properties including small animals, plants, crystals and water.

Kave Diluvii, boasts streams, lakes, and small waterfalls. The water mirrors normal chemical composition, rendering it potable and nourishing. Yet, caution prevails due to its constant frigid temperature, ranging from 1 to 5°C. Unique properties include intense luminescence, resistance to temperature shifts, and a saline taste. These aspects profoundly impact the limspace, resulting in a pervasive coldness, necessitating heavy coverage to stave off hypothermia. Heat sources prove inefficient, exacerbating the chill. Notably, the water's resistance to temperature changes induces a luminosity boost, escalating with variations. Even heated or cooled beyond 100 degrees, the water defies freezing or evaporation, swiftly returning to its base temperature at rest. Laboratory tests dispel notions of radioactivity or toxicity, revealing pure H2O. This contradicts traveler anecdotes of mineral saturation3. Despite its abnormal nature, the water's properties have birthed innovative water lanterns utilizing a heat regulator for brightness control. Strikingly, these properties persist beyond Kave Diluvii. The water's anti-thermal trait intensifies its luminosity in robust currents and waterfalls, where friction generates heat. Modest in scale, the falls reach a maximum height of 2 meters, the widest stream spans no more than 3 meters, and the largest lake covers a mere 400m².

> The Lazarus Event:

ok2.JPG

A cluster of radiant trees during a Lazarus event.

In cases where one or more Radiant Trees deplete all nutrients in their vicinity, a Lazarus Event unfolds. Roots retract from the ground, and the crown shifts forward through a sophisticated system of balances and counterweights, allowing the plant to move at a deliberate pace towards a more sustaining area. Upon arrival, the wandering trees replant their roots and resume feeding. Throughout this period, the trees develop glands capable of emitting water at high pressure, making it crucial to avoid proximity during an event. The unique regenerative properties, courtesy of limspace water absorption, have lured lumberjack communities seeking seemingly infinite wood resources. However, Radiant Trees take considerable time to regenerate branches, requiring additional nutrients and water in the interim. This accelerates resource depletion in the current area, prompting forced migration. While Radiant Trees typically store extra sustenance in their foliage for Lazarus events, the scarcity imposed by woodcutting communities often leads to the death of numerous specimens due to insufficient reserves.

> Limspace Configuration:

An instance of the microfauna present in the realm.

Alongside the diverse plant life, the limspace hosts small animals such as mice, flies, and mosquitoes, similar to their counterparts in the Baseline Reality. These creatures, less hostile towards humans, tend to conceal themselves for survival. Embedded clusters of gems and bright crystals on the walls emit a gentle glow, subtly illuminating the surroundings. The ceiling, adorned with numerous crystals, creates a starry night effect, contributing to the limspace's appeal as a "tourist" destination. Despite its cave-like appearance, the ground is earthy. The limspace seems to have a center, evident in the narrowing paths as one moves farther from this point. With an estimated dry surface of approximately 75 km², it provides suitable space for establishing bases or outposts. Wooden bridges facilitate movement across waterways. Despite its harmlessness in most aspects, the layer harbors a perilous soporific property. Prolonged exposure induces relaxation and increasing fatigue, leading to sleep and subsequent death. Falling asleep triggers a coma, culminating in death within minutes. If one sleeps on the ground, the body is actively absorbed within 15 minutes, exploited by echo flowers for feeding. Falling asleep in water transports the individual to the Ageless Wood upon awakening. However, falling asleep on any other surface results in death. Survival techniques for this danger remain elusive, except for immersion in water. Consequently, it's strongly advised not to exceed a 6-hour stay in the limspace to avoid the soporific effects. After leaving, exhaustion dissipates over a time span proportional to the duration of stay, with re-entry before this period's end restarting the sleep-inducing process.
Despite this risk, the realm attracts many visitors due to its lack of entities and the initially pleasant sensations it offers. Some groups exploit Kave Diluvii's unique water for various purposes, including cooling systems that leverage its natural coldness and the creation of alternative nutrients.

Access

At the time of writing, information on this matter is scarce. However, with the information provided, we’ve documented a few ways of entering. Be mindful that while entering Kave Diluvii may be easy, exiting won’t be.

  • The only sustained entrance is a room flooded with blood in The Womb. Once completely immersed in blood, you will be rendered unconscious, and transported to Kave Diluvii.
  • Another plausible entrance is located in Baseline Reality. To access it, one must enter an underground cave in Antium, Italy.
